What Is A Mock Tribunal?
As I’m sure you’ve heard, a groundbreaking judgement by the Supreme Court in R (on the application of Unison) v Lord Chancellor has ruled that tribunal fees are unlawful and should be abolished. Both the High Court and the Court of Appeal had previously found against Unison but the Supreme Court ruled that fees are unlawful, both under domestic and EU law, because they prevent access to justice.
If that sounds like a different language then you’re not alone! The most important thing to understand now is how this ruling will affect your business.
The number of new tribunal cases filed in East London during August increased by 100% compared to the same time last year; central London figures weren’t too far behind either, up by 75%.
If you’re a business owner these statistics are scary, but don’t worry…I’m head trainer at the ELAS Group for a reason!
Why Book A Mock Tribunal With Trainer Trev?
My job is to protect your business, which is why I’ve created mock tribunal training that will give you an idea of what it actually is like to be faced with an employment tribunal.
We have two mock tribunal courses coming up next month, one right here in Manchester on Wednesday 8th November and a second date in London on Wednesday 22nd November.
What’s Included In A Mock Tribunal?
This course is as realistic as possible and my team will make sure that you have all the knowledge you need to know what you should do if you’re ever unfortunate enough to be faced with a tribunal. Our ‘courtroom’ training will help you understand the procedure of giving evidence, cross examination and re-examination. You will learn about the conciliation process, find out how to choose witnesses, prepare for hearings and fill out tribunal forms etc.
I cannot stress enough that when it comes to employee training, companies should be proactive not reactive. This has never rung more true especially when it comes to situations where you could potentially lose a lot of money – such as a tribunal.
