ELAS TRAINING OFFER A WIDE RANGE OF COURSES IN HR, BUT WHICH ONE’S RIGHT FOR YOU?
HR training and e-learning course can be vital for the career progression of your staff and the betterment of your business. But how do you know which are the right courses in HR for your business? With such a wide variety available, we decided to take a look at what courses we offer to help you decide which are the right courses in HR for you and your staff. But the first thing you have to decide is which type of course is right for your business. Would a more traditional classroom training course suit your staff or would an e-learning course fit better into your businesses timescales? Below we take a look at some of the options available and discuss how these courses in HR could help your business.
HR TRAINING COURSES
Firstly, we’ll look at some of the HR training courses which are currently available from ELAS Training. All of our training courses can be delivered on site at your premises or at one of our many external training locations and are suitable for up to 12 people. We can also combine 2 of our half day courses to create a full day course package that suits your business requirements.
The ELAS Group are well known for their absence management platform, Attendance Pro, which is proven to reduce workplace absenteeism by as much as 62%. However, you may not be aware that we also offer a fantastic absence management training coursethat can be delivered over the course of half a day on your premises and can be combined with any of our other half day courses in a full day training programme..
This course incorporates employment law and occupational health elements to provide participants with an all encompassing education on the various causes and business costs associated with absence. Upon completion, all delegates will have a functioning understanding of how they can help to effectively reduce absenteeism within your business. The course covers topics including the Bradford Factor, correct use of management referrals and managing a phased return to work where required. As this course is intended to educate delegates on effective absence management techniques, we recommend this course for anyone currently occupying a management or supervisory role within your business.
Equality and Diversity
Given the current global focus on issues of equality and diversity, it’s no longer acceptable for business to be seen to be operating in a manner which may be considered as exclusionary in any way. With this in mind, it’s more important than ever to ensure that everyone within your organisation is aware of the roles they play when promoting equality and diversity within the workplace. This course can be delivered over the course of half a day on your premises and can be combined with any of our other half day courses in a full day training programme.
This course has been designed with the Equality Act 2010 in mind and aims to promote positive equality and diversity practices and procedures that can be implemented into any business, As this course is aimed at promoting equality and diversity, we would recommend that this course is is suitable for managerial or supervisory staff. However, it is just as relevant for anyone who has shown an interest in fostering and promoting equality and diversity within your business.
Unsurprisingly, the employment law experts at the ELAS Group also offer several employment law training courses amongst their suite of courses in HR. In fact, we currently offer 3 separate employment law courses. These are our half day Introduction to Employment Law course and our full day ELITE 1 and ELITE 2 employment law training courses.
Our Introduction to Employment Law course covers the most fundamental aspects of employment law and is a great starting point for your managerial or supervisory staff who may not have received any formal employment law training in the past. Our ELITE 1 and ELITE 2 training courses are more advanced courses which are again aimed at managerial or supervisory staff, however it is advisable that they have completed some kind of previous employment law training. Although ideally, delegates should complete the ELITE 1 training course, it is not a requirement and anyone with a previous knowledge of employment law is able to atend our ELITE 2 course. Over the course of these 2 courses, delegates will be introduced to legalities surrounding commencement of employment, disciplinary hearings, absence management and family friendly legislation.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
Another hot topic in modern workplaces, protecting your employees mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. But what can your business do to help your staff and how can you improve your current policies or procedures? In our 1 day Mental Health and Wellbeing training course we’ll explore these topics and much more to ensure that your business is doing everything you can to support those employees who need it the most.
Ensuring you are doing everything to protect the mental health and wellbeing of your staff is just as important as protecting their physical health. Businesses are losing more and more due to mental health related absences every year and this is not a trend that is expected to reverse any time soon. However, by being pro-active in helping your staff, you may be able to provide the help and support your staff need, when they need it the most. This mental health and wellbeing training course will teach delegates to spot the early signs of mental health issues amongst their colleagues and potentially themselves. The course will also provide all delegates with the tools they need to offer practical support for anyone suffering a mental health issue and the skills to become a mental health first aider. We would recommend this course for anyone within your business who is interested in raising awareness of mental health issues and helping those who need help dealing with mental health issues.
So, above we touched on some of the training courses in HR that are currently available from ELAS Training, but what e-learning courses do we offer? Although there are not as many e-learning courses as there are training courses, they are by no means of a lower quality and are of equal importance in a businesses training programme. So what e-learning courses in HR do we offer?
The Bribery Act
At ELAS Training we have developed a comprehensive e-learning course, designed to educate your staff on the correct protocols and procedures as laid out by the Bribery Act and the likely penalties that your staff, and your business, could incur by falling foul of Bribery Act.
This e-learning course should help your employees recognise a bribe in any form, understand the consequences of accepting a bribe and how the Bribery Act applies to businesses, regardless of their size. As this course is about educating staff to recognise a bribe, it is recommended that all members of staff complete this course and we would advise any businesses to include this into their regular training programmes.
Equality and Discrimination
Similar to our equality and diversity training course, this course ensures that every delegate is aware of their responsibilities when it comes to workplace equality and discrimination, with a focus on protecting your staff from discrimination and racism. This course adheres to the Equality Act 2010 and, like our equality and diversity training course, is suitable for anyone wanting to promote equality within your workplace.
Our final HR e-learning course, is our employee induction course. Unlike our other courses, this has been designed to slot seamlessly into your existing induction procedures for all new staff members. This course can be branded to fit your corporate image and comprises both HR and health and safety procedures. It also covers the basic legal requirements of an induction course which include recognition of fire exits and fire procedures, designated first aid trainers and the point of contact should you be unable to attend work due to illness.
As this is an induction course, it’s suitable for all new starters and should be incorporated into your new starter package.
Although we’ve detailed all of our HR e-learning courses, we’ve barely scratched the surface of our HR training courses. Why not pop over to the HR training courses page and check out the full range of courses available?
